Home Fixtures Homeless Project

Having structure, function and purpose is a top health priority for people who are homeless. Partick Thistle Charitable Trust (PTCT) work in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde GP and Pharmacy services for homeless adults, to deliver regular football coaching and physical activity sessions to people who are homeless in Glasgow.

At present we are delivering two, 2 hour football session every Monday & Thursday @ Petershill Football Centre.

This session offers football as a form of physical recreation designed to improve general health and fitness – as well as tracking individualised health improvements e.g. weight, blood pressure, BMI etc.

We plan on introducing more agencies who would involve coaches and staff to work alongside participants to set goals around their physical activity, health and fitness and, in time, goals to help them address the other challenges in their lives.

"It gives me something to live for, if it's not on I go aff my nut! I can't get into a gym, can't do weights, can't do anything like that, this is the only place I can get fitness."
